Ripl LLC (“Ripl”) provides this Privacy Policy to inform you of our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information we receive from users of ripl.co.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If we make any material changes, we may but are not obligated to notify you by means of a notice on the Site prior to the change becoming effective. Failure to give prior notice of a change shall not be deemed a breach of our obligation. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices. Continued use of the Site shall be deemed an acceptance of such changes to the Privacy Policy.

Information we collect

We collect information from you when you register on our Site, provide responses to complete your Ripl reports, subscribe to our newsletter, fill out a form, upload information to Ripl, or provide access to Ripl to obtain such information from Third Parties. The type of information we collect may include:

  • Personal information such as your name, billing address, e-mail, and telephone number.
  • Your username and password to allow access to Third Party platforms.
  • Company data required to complete Ripl reports for you, such as vendor expenditures and payroll reports.
  • User feedback, community discussions, chats and other interactions on our Site or with our staff.

Ripl automatically receives and records some information from your browser or your mobile device when you visit the Site, such as your IP address or unique device identifier, cookies, and data about which pages you visit on the Site. This information helps us analyze and understand how the Site works for our users and visitors and provide a more personalized experience for users.

We use the information you enter into our Site to produce the results you ask for, such as social and environmental impact reports, benchmarking reports that compare your results to other companies, and reports on how your company can improve its impact, etc. We use your contact information to assist you in using our platforms or to help you correct a problem with the platform.

 

Information we share

The only information we share publicly is the information in your member profile and your reports. You can see an example member profile and example reports on this page. Your profile and your reports are publicly visible unless you request that they be hidden. By agreeing to the Terms of Service, you recognize and agree to this.

Ripl will not disclose your email address or other personal information to third parties without your explicit consent, except as specified in this policy.

Notwitshanding the above, if your account or information is disclosed, Ripl will not held liable or responsible for any damages caused thereby.

Academic and other research

Ripl reserves the right to share aggregated and anonymous data with universities, researchers, and partners, and in publications based upon data submitted through this system. This aggregated, anonymized data is shared to produce research that shares insight from the social and environmental impact behaviors of businesses. Ripl will use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that Company data does not appear with identifiable information or in a benchmark group.

Notwithstanding Ripl’s efforts, it is possible that partners, academics, readers or other users would be able to determine the identity of the Company based on the anonymous information. Except as otherwise provided in this agreement, Ripl shall have no liability to the Company or any other person in the event any person is able to determine the identity of the Company based on anonymous or aggregated information.

How we protect your information

Ripl protects the data you transmit through the Site using an industry standard SSL certificate. Ripl uses a 2048-bit SSL certificate with 128-bit PCI compliant encryption. No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Data Retention

Ripl will retain your information only for as long as is necessary or your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We retain this information to provide services that you ask for,  such as how your company’s current impact data compares to your company’s historical impact. If you no longer wish to use Ripl’s services or receive service-related messages, then you may close your account.
